From April 17 to 18, 2026, the delegation continued the 2026 International Academic Week at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), attending the 17th Harvard China Education Symposium.Under the theme of "Navigating Change and Chasing Light: Igniting the Wisdom of Education, Responding to the Opportunities of All Things," the symposium fostered in - depth dialogues on cutting - edge topics such as educational technology, teacher empowerment, equity, and family education.
The delegation engaged in profound discussions with top global scholars and leaders:
Associate Professor Justin Reich (MIT) shared insights on experimenting with generative AI in schools, emphasizing the importance of continuous hypothesis testing in practice.
Professor David Perkins (Harvard Emeritus) discussed "Learning that Matters," exploring deep learning principles beyond superficial engagement in an era of uncertainty.
Professor Fernando Reimers (Harvard) elaborated on how international education cultivates peace - relevant capacities under specific pedagogical conditions.
Mr. Weihan Wang (Founder & President, Visionary Education Foundation) proposed that education's core mission should shift towards providing "interpersonal support and career capacity building" centered on "social capital."
The ECNU Faculty of Education is particularly proud that five ECNU graduate students — Xinyi Wang, Zhiyuan Li, Yijin Lin, Yifan Wang, and Duyu Li — were invited to deliver excellent research presentations at the young scholars' conference.
