In order to further its commitment to international talent development and to broaden high-quality postgraduate pathways for its graduates, the Faculty of Education at East China Normal University (ECNU) has reached a new cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia, building on many years of friendly collaboration. This agreement establishes an integrated bachelor’s–master’s articulation program across six education disciplines at Monash University, admitting graduates of the ECNU Faculty of Education to pursue master's degrees.
Founded in 1958, Monash University is Australia's largest university and a founding member of the prestigious Group of Eight. It is ranked 36th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026. In 2026 overall rankings, it is placed 38th in the U.S. News Best Global Universities ranking and 58th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Monash University’s Faculty of Education is the largest education faculty in Australia, and its outstanding performance in teaching and research is widely recognized both nationally and internationally. II. Eligibility and Intake
Undergraduate students of the Faculty of Education in the Class of 2022 may apply for the master’s programs commencing in August 2026; undergraduate students in the Class of 2023 may apply for the master’s programs commencing in February 2027. There is no set limit on the number of admissions.
III. Program Duration and Credits Points
By mutual agreement, this program is designed to grant East China Normal University Faculty of Education undergraduate graduates an exemption equivalent to one semester of study (i.e., 24 credit points). Accordingly, the program duration is 1.5 years. Students must complete a total of 72 credit points to be awarded a master’s degree from Monash University.
During the program, students who achieve an overall average of 75 or above across the first two semesters may have the opportunity to take two courses in the “Research Pathway” stream—EDF5613 Research Approaches in Education and EDF5614 Research Project in Education. If students obtain 70 or above in both courses, they will be eligible to apply for doctoral study at Monash University; if they obtain 80 or above in both courses, they will be eligible to apply for a PhD scholarship.
IV. Tuition Fees
For Education (Master of General Education Studies), the indicative tuition fee is AUD 43,800 per year. For Digital Learning (Master of Digital Learning), the indicative tuition fee is AUD 43,800 per year; for Early Childhood Education (Master of Early Childhood Education), the indicative tuition fee is AUD 43,800 per year; and for Inclusive and Special Education (Master of Inclusive and Special Education), the indicative tuition fee is AUD 43,800 per year.Indicative fee reference links for the above four programs are as follows:

VI. Eligibility Requirements and Application Documents
Eligibility requirements:
1.Achieve an average score of 70% or above throughout the undergraduate program;
2.Hold a bachelor's degree; (Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply under condition 4 below.)
3.Meet the English language proficiency requirement with one of the following:
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 or above, with no individual band score below 6.0.
TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 79 or above, with Writing ≥ 21, Listening ≥ 12, Reading ≥ 13, and Speaking ≥ 18.
PTE Academic: Overall score of 58 or above, with no communicative skill score below 50.
4.If the applicant has not yet been awarded the bachelor’s degree, applicants may submit an online application first, provided that all other requirements are met and they pass the internal university review. The partner institution may issue a conditional offer initially,followed by a full/unconditional offer once the required documents (including proof of degree completion) are submitted.
5.The applicant's overall profile will be considered, including academic background, test scores, honors and awards, work experience, and academic goals statement.

VII. Application Timeline
For August 2026 Entry:
Internal (ECNU) application deadline: from now until April 20,2026. After passing the internal review, applicants must complete the online application by May 1,2026.
For February 2027 Entry:
The internal application deadline will be announced again during the Autumn Semester of 2026.
