2025 International Academic Week ⑥ | Dialogue on the Frontiers of Education Across Three Nations——International Academic Week in Spain, Portugal, and France Successfully Concluded

Todeepen substantive and multi-dimensionalcollaboration with world-leading universities, innovate exchange models, and support the cultivation of outstanding talent in the field of Education, theFaculty of Educationat East China Normal University(ECNU)has been consistently deepening and advancing its International Academic Week program.

In 2025, the Faculty will organize a series of International Academic Weeks with several globally renowned institutions, including Columbia University (USA), the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge (UK), Korea University (South Korea), the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria (Canada), Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (France), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), and the Universidad de Vic-Universidad Central de Catalunya (Spain).These initiatives aim to promote substantive academic exchange and collaboration.


From November 23 to December 7, 2025,a delegation from the ECNU Faculty of Education embarked on a two-week academic exchange across three European countries. Organized by the Institute of International and Comparative Education, the program was conducted in collaboration with five leading European institutions, including the University of Vic–Central University of Catalonia in Spain, the University of Lisbon in Portugal, as well as France's École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Université Lumière Lyon 2, and Jean Moulin University Lyon 3. Centered on the themes "Equity in Inclusive Education and Interdisciplinary Dialogue" and "Cross-Border Dialogue and Knowledge Integration,"the visit facilitated in-depth cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and regional exchanges to explore new paradigms for educational equity and teacher development.


The delegation was led by Professor Zhang Dan, Deputy Director of the Institute of International and Comparative Education, with support from Professor Xun Yuan of the Institute of Higher Education and Dr. Hou Yansi from the National Institute of Education Policy Research. The team also included five undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from various academic units, including the Institute of International and Comparative Education, the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Department of Educational Administration.


This academic exchange has effectively established a platform for transnational dialogue and laid a solid foundation for future collaborative research and exchange.
